Post The Final Paces to Alpha [Pious Paladin]
I am in the final paces to the Pious Paladin Alpha. All the intended features are laid out, the core of them coded in the software. I have two major steps and then a stint of self testing before I release the first Alpha of the Pious Paladin milestone.

  • Connecting The Map to the Network
  • The Metaserver Gear

After I accomplish these two steps I will do a few tests on my own to make sure nothing is going to break the software to death. After the testing process I will be opening up the software for download and packaging the needed files to make installation easier. I want the installation process to be easier then before so it is likely I will mandate a version of Python and PyQt for the life of a milestone release, and then pick a new version while developing the next milestone.

I am also writing a real manual. It will have pictures and diagrams … just like the books you get when you buy a software. I wont be able to go in depth into developing for the software in the manual, though I do want to cover the required material need to play.

I am very excited this days is finally approaching. To display what is changing in the next milestone I have released a few videos going over some of the major changes.

Please remember this will be an Alpha release. It is expected there will be quite a few bugs, and I can honestly admit the product is not finished. The core of the feature changes will be implemented. Many of the newer features will require refinement before Beta.

Please watch the videos and get a much better look at what I am looking at. I would also love to hear your opinions and questions.
