I've been a Roleplayer for years of my life - but I never played Dungeons and Dragons in person or online. I heard Open RPG has a few D&D servers - but I couldn't find ANYONE whose even online! So I'm coming here to ask a few things. Q1.) Anyone have a dedicated / eventfull / good / fun D&D server that would accept a noob to the game? Q2.) Could someone teach me how to use Open RPG? I figure PLAYERS are better trainers / teachers than "guides" since players know how to do things faster etc. |

We are aware that the current documentation sucks and are trying to do more about it. There was a small discussion about it, viewtopic.php?f=4&t=205&start=0 with links to Alicia's tutorials for beginners at her site, http://swrpgrc.com/index.php?option=com ... &Itemid=23 and some videos prof.ebral made too, (can't find link now perhaps he will post it) I got on with a wiki but its more technical than beginner: http://openrpgnotes.wiki-site.com/index.php/Main_Page of course there's the old old stuff still. http://openrpg.wrathof.com/faq1/FrontPage However as you say there's no substitute for talking to people and I suggest joining the Mayhem community and asking them. You will need to get a free registration with their site to see or post. http://s9.zetaboards.com/Mayhem_Gaming/index/ They host a server but there are other gaming groups with their own servers. I know they do D&D and other stuff but mostly D&D I think. You can look at their "intro" graphic and see if it has contact information. Don't worry about using any of the publicly registered servers by the way. You don't have to join any group just to use a publicly registered server although some do have some very small rules for use (eg one warns about adult content). And often there's people hanging out on the servers in the lobbies. |
