Post No Module Attribute FNB_COLORFUL_TABS
Ok, I discovered the cause of the problem. I recently had a Fedora update that updated my wx.Python to 2.8.11 and now Traipse Ornery Orc {100505-00} won't start with this error.

As I've mentioned before I feel wx.Python is decaying, and I feel this further iterates how it is decaying.

So you think it's just a version change from 2.8.10 to 2.8.11 ?
Is there actually no such constant in 2.8.11? Is that feature simply removed or is it called in some other way?

I can't see how Windows and mac people managed to accidentally upgrade their Python. It's not as automatic as it is for Lynux. i do recall one user installed 2.8.11 because I gave them that link by accident figuring -- how different can it be? It's possible people have been having issues and tried reinstalling everything and since 2.8.11 is the most recent they've been using that.

Did the error go away if you changed back to 2.8.10?

At any rate this seems like a solution to a nasty bug; we get people to install the correct wxPython in future instead of editing their code (which is probably something that would make most people pretty nervous). But first get them to run the system_check.py to see if they really do have 2.8.11

Here's the sourceforge site; https://sourceforge.net/projects/wxpython/files/

Here's wxPython 2.8.10.1 for 32 bit / Python 2.6:

I have not downgraded wx.Python and I have no plans too. Traipse Beta removes the FNB_COLORFUL_TABS. I know they are pretty to some, but to me they are just a random rainbow effect.

So far my Vista and XP machine appear to be running 100505-00 ok. My Vista VM has problems installing updates though, so maybe that is why it has not seen this error yet.

No I meant it would be a confirmation if you could switch the bug on and off by swapping out wxPython versions.
I'll try to do it myself after this Saturday's session.

Further information on this problem. Apparently wx.Python 2.8.11 takes care of *all* of the tab styles. I am not pleased with that change. I supposed something was moved inside wx.Python

You will get just basic tabs if you are using wx.Python 2.8.11

But it's only the colour constant that causes trouble? There's no constant for shape or slope gradient or whatever that has gone missing? No other issues?

Actually. the entire slope and color is all gone. As well as the map tabs coming from the bottom of the map. They are now coming from the top of the chat, just the opposite direction.

Confirmed on Windows Vista: 2.8.11 creates bug and 2.8.10 removes it again.
